SMART FORCE - Technologies Scientific equipment for micro- and nanofabrication

Published on 30 November 2017

From rapid prototyping of micron-scale designs to integration of nanoparticles, Smart Force is responding to new needs on the manufacturing and research markets with two new pieces of lab equipment.

Smart Force Technologies was founded in 2015 and is run by two former PhD candidates who identified a need for new laboratory equipment. With two highly innovative machines that are unique on the market, the startup rapidly made its first sales to customers in France and around the globe.

Smart Print is a micron-scale optical photolithography machine that does not require physical masks, which drastically reduces costs and increases throughput. Smart Print makes rapid prototyping of micron-scale designs possible. It is currently used by manufacturers in the watchmaking and microfluidics industries.

SF-Research leverages the controlled evaporation of a colloidal solution on a lithographically-patterned surface to deposit and arrange nanoparticles to create thousands of identical nano-objects.

Prior to creating their startup, Smart Force's founders benefited from Leti's incubation program. Today the company is continuing to make improvements to its equipment through a joint research project with Inac and LTM.
